e-puck2 is the latest mini mobile robot developed by GCtronic and EPFL) This is an evolution
of the successful e-puck robot used in many research and educational institutes.
Now with WiFi and USB link & charge. e-puck2 is compatible with its predecessor but is powered
by an STM32F4 microcontroller and features a larger number of sensors: IR proximity, sound I/O,
9x IMU, ToF distance sensor, camera, uSD storage. The robot is a full system with USB hub,
debugger/programmer, WiFi module.

Cyberbotics Ltd. is launching to allow everyone to program simulated robots online.
Robotbenchmark offers a series of robot programming challenges that address various topics across a wide range of difficulty levels, from middle school to PhD. Users don't need to install any software on their computer, cloud-based 3D robotics simulations run on a web page. They can learn programming by writing Python code to control robot behavior. The performance achieved by users is recorded and displayed online, so that they can challenge their friends and show off their skills at robot programming on social networks. Everything is designed to be extremely easy-to-use, runs on any computer, any web browser, and is totally free of charge.
The e-puck robot has been used to implement Cognitive Stimulation Therapy by Sergi Torrellas at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. This therapy is a brief treatment for people with mild to moderate cognitive disorder with the objective of stimulating and engaging people, whilst providing an optimal learning environment. Cognitive stimulation is to improve an individual's capacity to process information so as to enhance independence and dignity in everyday life. Currently, the treatment consists of hierarchically organized treatment tasks and exercises which require repetitive use of the cognitive system in a progressively more demanding sequence. Therefore, these repetitive tasks have in impact on motivation which becomes the biggest challenge in CST reducing the performance of the therapy.
To fulfill this objective, the iCognos project is based on Opensource software (OSS) and Open-source Hardware (OSHW). iCognos is implemented on two separated OSHW devices: (1) the Cognitive Stimulation Control System is implemented on a Raspberry PI3 and interfaced with an WiiMote4 and (2) the Cognitive Stimulation Telerobotics System is implemented on the ePuck robot. The software developed for this project relies on different OSS (e.g. Cwiid, Qt, Bluez) aligning the project with the outcomes of the community.
